NVIDIA unveils Tegra 4 with quad-core A15 CPU, 72 GPU Cores

NVIDIA has announced Tegra 4 processor for smartphones and tablets that has 72 GPUs cores and 4 ARM A15 CPU cores at CES 2013. It also comes with an optional 4G LTE chipset. NVIDIA is calling it the fastest mobile processor in the world. The Tegra 4 tablet takes 24 seconds to load 25 unique web pages, twice faster than the Nexus 10 that has a dual-core A15 CPU. The Tegra 4 slide leaked last month revealing the features.
It is developed using a new 28nm manufacturing process, rather than the 40nm manufacturing process in the Tegra 3. This offers less power consumption and better heat dissipation. It is based on the same 4-PLUS-1 technology, but has second-generation battery saver core for low power during standard use. If consumes 45 percent less power than its predecessor, Tegra 3. The PRISM 2 Display technology reduces backlight power while delivering superior visuals. Tegra 4 also has 4K ultra-high-definition video support.

Zeusmos Is Another Installous Alternative – No Jailbreak Required

uhelious has introduced to the iOS community a new free app download service called Zeusmos that makes the iPhone, iPod and iPad users able to install cracked or pirated applications without jailbreaking their devices, it will be an alternative to installous for many users but without jailbreaking their devices.uhelios is a 15 year old developer and I don’t think he will be able to survive in such a stringent situation where no one will allow him to crack or pirate the software, he may very soon face stoppage of his hosting account etc. Still this is good for the people who can not afford the original apps and want to try some good apps before they can purchase.

TNW asked for more information about the zeusmos from the hacker and uhelious has responded saying that he’s offering the service as a sort of ‘try before you buy’ option.

Two Google Services Are Acknowledging The iPad Due To Bug

Apple and Google separately are two big entities in the world of smartphones and tablets. Both of these have their own fan following in the market which empowers them to stand dominating among all others. Entire world is familiar with these two famous brands which are also popular for one more thing and that is their rivalry. These two companies have been pulling each other’s leg to increase their share in market.

In their prevailing scenario of rivalry, there comes a bug which makes things odd between these two. The bug found in Google Now and Translate appsperforms oddly in this tense rivalry. On asking the right queries to Google Now and translate, this odd behaving bug sort of praises the iPad. The problem found is with the text-to-speech engine of Google. We do not know why it does this but every time when someone inserts a phrase that ends with ‘filled with’, ‘enraged with’ and ‘end with’, it additionally inserts this phrase ‘he now praises the iPad’. This seems like a love from Google to Apple that is actually not understandable.

The new software has already been seen running on the handset in a video, so there are no concerns the device can handle the new OS.

iPhone 5 iOS 6.0.2 Untethered Jailbreak Done – Releasing Soon

Good news for jailbreak community, we were a little bit disappointed that it might be difficult to jailbreak iphone 5 and iOS 6.0.2 after it was tweeted few days back by a famous jalbreaker that Apple has made iOS 6.0 more secure. But today a new breeze of  hope came when planebeing has posted on reddit that he has already done untethered jailbreak of iPhone 5 and the exploit which they have discovered will be used for iOS 6.1 jailbreak which we believe will be released any time by Apple. I beleive the situation is becoming similar to last year when we were waiting for a long time to jailbreak 5.1 and at the end we got 5.1.1 untethered Absinthe jailbreak which is still the latest untethered jailbreak for iPhone 4, 4s, ipad3 and all older devices.

How To Troubleshoot Personal HotSpot in iPhone

Because I was also facing the problem in personal hotspot frequently therefore I decided to write few lines on how to troubleshoot personal hotspot in iPhone. First of all we need to confirm from our data carrier that the service provides internet tethering or not because if internet tethering is not supported by the carrier you will not be able to use thepersonal hotspot for using your iPhone as a wired or WiFi modem or bluetooth. In that case if you go to settings you will not see the option ofPersonal HotSpot.

iPhone 5 100,000 foot drop test video

Over the years we have seen many drop test videos, some of them taking things to the extreme, and one such case manufacture does seem to take testing smartphones to the limits to see if a device can survive when wearing one of their cases. That case manufacturer is G-Form, who have now published a video testing out their new Xtreme case for the iPhone 5, and naturally we have that footage for our readers viewing consideration below.

We have seen a few G-Form case test videos in the past such as with the original Apple iPad being dropped from 500 foot, and we have even seen the iPad 2 having a bowling ball dropped onto it to see if it can survive the impact, and of course both of these Apple products survived the tests.

Samsung Galaxy S3 firmware update hits UK fixes flaws

In recent weeks a couple of possibly serious issues have come to light regarding the hugely popular Samsung Galaxy S3, which included a security flaw affecting the handsets Exynos processor and more recently reports of handsets suddenly dying. We can now report that a Samsung Galaxy S3 firmware update has arrived for users in the UK that could fix both of these issues with the smartphone.

Only yesterday I was checking for software updates via the handset and was met with the same “Access to the software update service is provided to users in the order in which they are requested” message that was shown when recently updating the device to Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean. This raised my hopes of an early release of Android 4.2 Jelly Bean for the Galaxy S3, so I decided to check for updates via the Samsung KIES desktop application.

Samsung Galaxy S IV press release shot leaks?

Samsung Galaxy S IV press release shot leaks?

SamMobile just shared a picture of what is said to be a press shot of the next Samsung flagship, the Galaxy S IV.

The phone looks like the Galaxy S III but there is one major difference, there is no home button. Another noticeable difference is that there is no camera button and the thin bezel.

Here are the rumored specs:

4.9-inch SuperAMOLED Full HD screen with 1080×1920 resolution
Exynos 5450 Quad-Core CPU clocked at 2.0GHz
Mali-T658 GPU
2GB of RAM
13 megapixel rear camera
2 megapixel front-facing camera
Android 4.2.1
It's hard to tell if this is a real thing or fake, but SamMobiles source claims that that he have more pictures to prove his claims and we hope that we will see them soon.

What do you think? Is this just an early render or a real thing?

Windows RT is Too Confusing for Users

Microsoft CEO was told by the head of Dell's PC business that he should reconsider the name “Windows RT” for the ARM version of Windows 8. The latter explained that since the OS didn’t run traditional Windows software, this name would be too confusing for users. He warned Microsoft not to use the Windows brand name on RT, because it was designed to run on ARM-based tablets: Windows RT runs only Windows Store, or Metro, applications.
Windows RT is Too Confusing for Users
However, Microsoft just shrugged and claimed that the Windows brand was too important not to be used in the new OS name. Indeed, Microsoft has created Windows, which couldn’t be seen as making something else. Nevertheless, the warning turned out to be right. There have already been some users who’ve picked up the Surface RT tablet and were confused.

Actually, Microsoft has even had to change its return policies for consumers who bought Surface RT only to figure out that they can’t run standard Windows software on it. Local media agrees that if Microsoft had listened to Dell, they could have avoided one of the major criticisms of its new OS: that Windows RT looks so much like Windows 8 that it is incredibly easy for an ordinary user to mistakenly purchase a Windows RT device without realizing that it isn’t a regular Windows device.

Worse still, Windows 8 differs a lot from Windows 7, and users might think that RT simply doesn’t run their old software due to that rather than because of running a different chip. In response, Microsoft blames its customers for their lack of desire to be “educated” about the gadgets they purchase. The company also complains that the consumers aren’t going to read any instruction manual – they would just buy something else instead!

Free Vodafone SIM cards and NFC – A reality

Global Mobile Technology leaders Vodafone and Gemalto (the world’s largest SIM card manufacturers) have joined forces to provide secure Free SIM card based NFC payments to customers around the world, in a multiple year contract between the two giants. This union will see the provision of an infrastructure that will deliver secure and trusted mobile transactions including payment by mobile contact and even ticketing. The security is provided by the SIM card, which is controlled by Vodafone, which means that the manufacturers or software providers will never have access to customers’ sensitive information.

Only Gemalto will have access to the software, which will be implanted in the Vodafone SIM card, this combination creates and manages a secure environment in which customers can take advantage of Near Field Communication (NFC) technology to make payments and other transactions on their mobile.

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 in Amber Brown and Ruby Wine

The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is one popular device with the Android faithful, and just like the hugely popular Samsung Galaxy S3 the Note 2 just might be getting some new colour options which old Sammy seems to be quite in favour of recently, as the word is there could be both brown and red versions of the Galaxy Note 2 on their way.

According to a report by Japanese website Blog of Mobile, the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 variants popped up in a magazine advert which could suggest that these two new colours could soon be arriving in South Korea.

Apparently the official new colours are Amber Brown and Ruby Wine, with the Amber Brown version already available in Japan. So one can presume that it will be only a matter of time before old Sammy brings these new colour models of the Note 2 to other markets.

Samsung Galaxy S3 Sudden Death issue needs quick fix

Since its release during the summer of last year the Samsung Galaxy S3 has been enjoying a good time with regards to reviews and sales of the handset. The biggest news away from the sales figures for the smartphone has been the various versions of the operating system running on the different carrier models of the handset. Towards the end of last year though a more worrying problem emerged with owners reporting a sudden death issue with the Samsung Galaxy S3, which needs a quick fix even though only select models are being affected.

We first reported on the problem affecting some owners of the Samsung Galaxy S3 just before Christmas, with a growing thread on the XDA Developers forum that originally started in November. Since our report we have had some of our readers also reporting the problem hitting their version of the handset, and Samsung replacing the motherboard installed inside the device.

Chennai Airport prepares for paperless tickets using smartphones, tablets and laptops

TH31_BU_CHENNAI_AI_1194284f

Just after the BCAS(Bureau of Civil aviation Security) announced that, like the Indian Railways, Airports in India can accept tickets on phone or any computing device, the Chennai Airport has started preparations for the same. If implemented, passengers will be permitted into terminal buildings with tickets in digital form, but the boarding pass will still have to be paper once checked in.
This move comes in the wake of the Indian Railways, an inferior yet highly used mode of public transport started accepting e-tickets through SMS and on any screen provided with the ticket. Likewise, all the major Airports will go paperless soon and that is a welcome change for frequent travelers and people who are frustrated with slow changing digitization of public transport.
Chennai Airport authorities are reportedly being trained to look for the appropriate information in digital tickets, as the formatting may vary. Since print out tickets are mandatory and a lack of easy print solutions inside the Airport complex are less, people who forget their tickets clobber for limited and pricey solutions in some airline stations.  It is also said that the CISF who take care of the entry points into the Airport will be trained to look at the PNR on the digital form of the ticket.
It is about time that digital Wallets and passbook support arrive, for eliminating paper boarding passes, but I guess that is still a distant dream.

Do Not Disturb Issue Is Going To Be Resolved On 7th January

A recent story related to Apple has highlighted a bug in iPhone. Due to this, Apple has brought in its notice the time-related bug that caused Do Not Disturb feature on New Year’s Day to disable itself even though it was not scheduled to be. The iPhone maker has stated in a support document that this time-related bug will fix itself automatically by coming Monday which would be 7 January, 2013. However, the company did not announce anything related to fixing this bug for once and all – surely none of us would want to miss their alerts on the next New Year Day.

In the above mentioned document it was said that the bug will fix itself thus normal functionality will resume after 7 January, 2013. However before the said date, feature can be turned off and on manually. It further added that the mode of Do Not Disturb would stay scheduled to old time hence it will not create any problem in future.

iPhone 5S to Launch in June with multiple colors and two different display sizes

Apple the most famous company in the world launch their product every year. Apple company launch their iPhone in June every year, but in the case of iPhone 5 Apple launched iPhone 5 in September because of some reasons. But now we are very hopeful that Apple will launch next iPhone in June as usually. May be that is iPhone 5S or iPhone 6, but with the release of this new iPhone there will be big change in smartphone’s world. Some analyst predicted that in new iPhone there will be a projector which will show display through its projector and also which will show big keyboard. Now we heard that Apple will launch their iPhone 5S in June with the bigger changes with the multiple colors and two different display sizes.

Topeka Capital Markets analyst Brian White predicts that Apple will launch the iPhone 5S in May/June with multiple multiple colors and two different display sizes.

“Apple is our top overall pick for 2013,” White wrote in an investor note. “With the 25% correction in Apple’s stock from the high in September, the stock is now trading at just 7.7x our CY13 EPS estimate (less cash) and the company’s portfolio has never been stronger, in our view. We believe tax-related selling was largely to blame for the downward bias in the stock price as we exited 2012 and this created a negative news cycle around Apple that we believe will be broken as we enter 2013. We believe there is still plenty to look forward to at Apple, including the potential for greater choices (i.e., colors, sizes) around the next iPhone in 2013, combined with accelerating momentum with the iPad mini and continued strength with the iPad franchise at large.”

BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha handsets hit eBay

But obviously RIM put out several BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha devices for developers before the upcoming event, and as with some pre-release devices more often than not they pop up on auction sites such as eBay.

Well it appears that a couple of BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha devices have now made their way to eBay according to a report by BlackBerryOS, although they do carry a hefty price tag if you fancy owning one of these.

Will Nokia Lumia Devices Come in Green in 2013?

Will Nokia Lumia Devices Come in Green in 2013?

As Nokia fans know Nokia likes to tease their upcoming colors in photos thru their social networks which is the reason the above photo raised my interest. Note the colors of the balloons... they are all actual colors that you can get Nokia Lumia devices in expect the green. Does this mean that Nokia Lumia devices will could now come in green this year?

That photo was attached to this tweet from Nokia's official Twitter account.

Will Nokia Lumia Devices Come in Green in 2013?
This could be me simply reaching on this one however, Nokia has done this more than a few times before and if the past is any indication of the future this has a real possibility of being true. Would anyone out there even buy a green device? Better yet what color would you like to see Lumias come in that don't currently. You can let us know in the comments.

AppSync & Installous – Two Famous Apps Come To An End

Hackulous team has lately put an end to its two famous apps which areInstallous and AppSync. The team did this in order to stop piracy of apps. It may sound like a small step toward stopping the piracy of apps but it certainly has set an example. However the reason of their shutdown is still not clear. The team claims that forum was getting stagnant and it was getting difficult to handle it. But I do believe that there was some notorious activity going on due to which they decided to shut down their apps.

The message Hackulous Team left behind on its website stated that they had to do this as the forum was getting stagnant and was becoming like a ghost town. Due to its size, it was not well-moderated so despite of being together for years, it was better to shut it down.

So far Installous and AppSync have been the two simplest and fastest apps which could install cracked applications onto your iProducts. Hackulous repo has no doubt gone down as people cannot use these apps to install apps from third party pirate sites.
This is indeed a small step to stop app piracy. But with Hackulous out of scene, other developers will be more likely to start from the point where Hackulous left. They may come up with the latest versions of these apps in near future.
This is one of the reason why people jailbreak their iOS products and while keeping the fact in mind that there has not been any jailbreak for iOS 6, broadly speaking for iPhone 5, may be that is why Hackulous had to go out of business.
In the end, if you are the one using cracked apps then it seems like now you will have to spend some money to get what you want but if you are a developer then you must be happy to see an opportunity. No matter what it would be like for anyone else but for iOS this is not less than a victory.
