Motorola Razr and Razr Maxx Android 4.0 update starts rolling out in India

Motorola has started rolling out Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) update for Motorola Razr and RazrMaxx owners in India. Motorola started rolling out the ICS update for Droid Razr and Droid Razr Maxx last week in the U.S. We got the update on both the Razr and Razr Maxx.
This new update would bring improved web browsing, new People app with integrated contacts, unified calendar more intuitive enhanced communication and Face Unlock. New Lock screen lets you make acall, send a text or take a picture, easily.
This update is available OTA (Over the Air) and is about 285 MB for the Razr, so better download it over WiFi instead of 3G. You can check for the update manually from the Settings, About phone, System updates. If it says it’s update to date, try restarting the phone and check for the update once again.

Samsung Galaxy S2 getting some Android ICS 4.0.4 update love: Update

Since Google first released the Android Ice Cream Sandwich operating system late last year with the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, we have had months of false starts and problems with a number of capable handsets waiting to get the new software. Today we can tell you that the Samsung Galaxy S2 has been getting some Android 4.0.4 update love.
Recently we had the news that the Galaxy S2 would likely be set to miss out on the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system, but as the Android Community are reporting in an article owners of the handset are least getting some good news for a change. While all the focus recently has been on the latest smartphone from the Samsung, the Galaxy S2 is still going strong, and Samsung has been busy pushing out updates to all the various versions of the Galaxy S II.

Extract Siri rival Google Now from Android Jelly Bean to ICS

I’m pretty sure most of the Android faithful know that with the latest operating system from the Android guys, Android Jelly Bean, comes Google Now , which has been touted as the Google smart assistant that rivals Apple’s Siri, so no doubt every Android user can’t wait to get to play with Google Now, and now apparently if you own an ICS handset you don’t have to wait.

According to the guys over at Tech Crunch, you can now extract Google Now from Android Jelly Bean and port it to Android Ice Cream Sandwich devices thanks to a developer over at XDA-developers, although doing so does require a bit of a geeky skill set.
