eyeSight to launch Gesture-controlled Music Player App for iPhone and iPad at MWC



eyeSight Mobile Technologies has announced that they would launch SoundWave music app with new gesture recognition technology at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2012 in Barcelona, Spain. They were the ones behind the gesture controls in the Micromax A85 that was launched last November. The SoundWave app foriPhone and iPad would enable users to control their iPhones and iPads using simple hand gestures.
Following the app’s release, developers would be able to download eyeSight’s unique SDK to develop a whole new range of gesture-controlled applications and games.
They would also showcase Pantech Vega LTE smartphone integrated with eyeSight’s gesture recognition technology that enables users to answer incoming calls, play games control and more with gesture controls.
The app will be showcased at MWC 2012 in Barcelona, Spain next week and soon be available for download on iTunes. We will let you know once it hits the Apple iTunes Store.

Panasonic ELUGA waterproof Android smartphone announced for Europe



Panasonic has announced a new waterproof Android smartphone, Panasonic ELUGA for Europe. This phone is sleek, which is just 7.8 mm thick and weighs 103 g. It has 4.3 inch, (960×540 pixels ), capacitive OLED displaythat has 66% display area ratio, 1GHz dual-core processor (OMAP4430) and 8MP auto focus camera. It is protected for up to a depth of 1 metre for up to 30 minutes in water, and protected against dust if left near or in it for 8h or less.

ZTE Mimosa X made official : ICS , Tegra 2 goes mainstream

ZTE just announced its latest mid range Android device , the Mimosa X. The phone not only packs a Tegra 2 chipset but also an Nvidia developed modem. The Icera 450 is 21mbps HSPA capable.

The phone is enabled with a qHD resolution display , 5MP camera and 4GB of storage which should be expandable via a memory card slot. The handset will go on sale in Q2. While pricing details are unknown as of now , we should be getting a complete hands on with the smartphone at MWC next week.

LG Optimus L3, L5 and L7 Android smartphones shown off



LG has shown off 3 new phones in the Optimus series. These phones are called L-Style series of phones that has thin design with Floating Mass Technology similar to the LG PRADA 3.0 phone and has textured back cover.
The LG Optimus L3 has 3.2-inch display and runs on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread). It comes with 1500 mAh battery. Detailed specs of this device surfaced last month.
The LG Optimus L5 and the LG Optimus L7 has 4.0-inch and 4.3-inch displays, respectively and runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich).

Nokia Lumia 719 Passes Bluetooth Certification




The MWC (Mobile World Congress) is just a week away and Nokia are reported to have some products in line for announcements.
The Nokia Lumia 719 has just passed it’s bluetooth certification. The phone’s features are:
  • 3.7″ Clear Black Display
  • Megapixel Camera with Autofocus and HD Video Recording
  • Turn by Turn Navigation etc
The handset regions include Asia and both North and South America. The features seem quite similar to the Lumia 710 and so this could very well be a region specific version of the Lumia 710. But since we have not much other information regarding the handset, we cannot confirm this for now.

Samsung GALAXY Y DUOS and GALAXY Y Pro DUOS up for pre-order in India


Samsung GALAXY Y DUOS and GALAXY Y Pro DUOS, Dual SIM Android phones are now available for pre-order in India from online retailer Letsbuy.  These are the Dual SIM versions of the GALAXY Y and the  GALAXY Y Pro Android phones. These phones were announced last December.
The Samsung GALAXY Y DUOS has 3.14-inch touch screen display and has polished metallic casing. It is 11.98mm thin and weighs 109 g. The GALAXY Y Pro DUOS features a 2.6-inch touch screen display and a fullQWERTY keyboard, 3MP camera and secondary VGA camera that was missing in GALAXY Y Pro. Both these phones run on Android 2.3 Gingerbread.

Both these phones come with Music Player with SoundAlive, 3.5mm Ear Jack, Stereo FM Radio with RDS, Samsung TouchWiz UI, 384MB RAM, 512MB ROM and a expandable memory up to 32GB with MicroSD. The connectivity features include, 3G (HSDPA 7.2Mbps) , Bluetooth v 3.0, USB 2.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, aGPS. These phone come with 1,300 mAh battery.
The Samsung GALAXY Y DUOS and the GALAXY Y Pro DUOS are up on pre-order from Letsbuy at Rs. 10,490 and Rs. 11,090 respectively. These are expected to be available by 2nd week of March.

Tata DOCOMO launches ‘Grab a Song’ service for GSM and CDMA customers



Tata DOCOMO has launched innovative song search service, Grab a Song, for its GSM and CDMA customers. This would enable Tata DOCOMO customers set the song they hear as Call Me Tune/Welcome Tune from a massive music library of over 400,000 songs in 20 languages.
Tata DOCOMO customers can dial 57878 (toll-free) and hold the phone near the speaker of the source of the sound, be it a TV, laptop, music system, car stereo, in a cinema hall and so on. The voice recognition software at the back-end will match the song’s availability in the Tata DOCOMO ‘Call Me Tune’ database and find it from within the vast collection.
Within 30 seconds, the customer will receive an SMS confirming activation of the service and the song details, including the movie or album it is from, and the name of the singer(s).
Customers can also add their favorite song in the personal playlist at 578787 (Re.1 /min). After adding the song, customers can check their playlists any time and set Call Me Tunes and Welcome Tunes.

Swype for Android update brings Android 4.0 support, Dragon Go! Add-on and more
