Micromax Funbook Pro 10.1-inch tablet running Android 4.0 now available for Rs. 9999


Micromax has introduced Funbook Pro, successor of the Funbook that launched in April. It is now available in India exclusively from online retailer Snapdeal. Other than the 10.1-inch (1024 x 600 pixels) display, most of the specs are similar including, 1.2 GHz Cortex A8 processor, 0.3MP VGA front facing camera and 3G via Tata Docomo Photon+ Dongle . The RAM has been upgraded to 1GB and it comes with 8GB internal memory with expandable micro SD slot and 5600 mAh battery.


Karbonn Smart Tab 1 now comes with Android Jelly Bean Onboard, update for existing users coming soon


Karbonn Mobiles has announced that the Smart Tab 1 that launched in July with Android 4.0 (Ice CreamSandwich) would now be available with Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) OS Onboard. The Karbonn Smart Tab 1 packs in a 7-inch ( 800 x 480 pixels) 5 Point Multi capacitive Touch Screen display, 1.2 GHz X-Burst processor, 2 Mega Pixel Front-facing camera.


It has 1GB of Internal memory, Expandable Memory upto 32 GB, 1080p HD Video Playback , 3G support through USB dongle, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, HDMI and 3700 mAh battery.
The Karbonn Smart Tab 1 is available for the same price of Rs. 6990. Karbonn has also promised free upgrade to Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) for existing Smart Tab 1 users soon. Hope other manufactures would come up with Tablets running on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) OS, rather than launching ICS tabletswithout promising any further updates.

Samsung to unveil Galaxy Note 2 at IFA on August 29




Samsung spokesperson has confirmed Reuters that they plan to unveil the next Galaxy Note at the Samsung Mobile Unpacked event in Berlin on August 29. Samsung started sending invites yesterday for the Unpacked event scheduled for August 29th. Samsung announced the Galaxy Note at IFA last September that sold over 7 million units in just 7 months as of June.
According to the rumors, the Galaxy Note 2 is expected to come with a 5.5-inch 720p HD display, 1.4 to 1.7 GHz quad-core processor, S Pen, Android 4.0 ICS (or 4.1 Jelly Bean) and 2750 mAh battery. Are you waiting for the Note 2?

LG India launches Smartphone Idea Camp contest



LG has launched Smartphone Idea Camp, an innovative online contest that would let customers stand a chance to win prices worth Rs. 15 Lakhs. Consumers need to submit unique app, feature, concept, service, design, UI ideas that they desire in their phones. If the idea gets selected, best ideas would get incorporated in LG’s future smartphone line-up and also win cash prize of Rs. 15, 00,000.
The campaign starts today, 1st August and ends on 15th September 2012. HTC Incredible S Android 4.0 OTA update starts rolling out in India



HTC has stared rolling out Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) update for Incredible S in India. The Incredible S was launched in India in March 2011 with Android 2.2 (Froyo) and it got the Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) update in May 2011. HTC announced the global Android 4.0 update schedule last month and started rolling out Android 4.0 update for Sensation XL and Evo 3D in India last month.
This update would bring new features including HTC Sense 3.6, customizable launcher in the home-screen, new lock screen functions, music controls in the notification bar, new multi-tasking / recent apps screen and more new features.
This Android 4.0.4 OTA (Over the Air) update is about 250MB. If you didn’t get notification yet, you can check it manually from Settings, About phone, Software update.

Samsung launches 32GB Galaxy SIII in India at Rs. 41,500

Samsung had announced that it will be launching a 32GB and 64GB model alongside the 16GB edition when it unveiled its flagship, Galaxy SIII. The 32GB version is now available in India at Samsung’s online store at a price point of Rs. 41,500.


There is no difference between the standard 16GB model (Rs 38,400) and the 32GB model except for the obvious storage bump. Unlike its competitors like the HTC One X, the phone comes with a microSDslot which means that you can get up to 64GB of storage if you have the 32GB model. If you’re looking for a high end Android smartphone with a massive amount of storage to replace your media player, the Samsung Galaxy SIII is the phone to get.
