Microsoft Windows: Happy 25th Anniversary

The first Microsoft Windows was released to the world in November 1985. It has been 25 years since the obnoxious Operating System aka Microsoft Windows is around. The very first version i.e. Windows 1.0 was not actually an Operating System but only a GUI program that runs on top of DOS.
Since then, Microsoft has made billions by selling its line of Operating Systems called Windows. Below are the years and versions when Windows was launched.

While one can argue about the efficiency of the Operating System, its security problems, its price and monopoly by Microsoft; Microsoft Windows has unarguably changed the way we use PC’s today. Although, most of the computing is now shifting towards Mobile and Tablet computers, Microsoft Windows will be remembered for its role in expanding Personal Computer market.
In my honest opinion, Windows 7 is by far the best OS released by Microsoft and I am looking forward to Windows 8.

2 New Galaxy Players Announced by Samsung

Samsung has announced two new Galaxy Players. These devices are Android Powered and dubbed as Galaxy Player 4” and Galaxy Player 5″ and are suppose to compete with the rivals Apple iPod Touch. The two new music players are not only for music. These two phone-sized Android devices will do most of what an Android smart phone would, except for making calls. The devices are equipped with Wifi for connectivity and allows one to play games, browse web, and take pictures. There are two cameras in the new player one at the front and other at the rear. The front camera is  VGA quality and allows one to chat over Skype. The rear camera (3.2 MP) is for taking pictures (but we are not sure if it provides HD video capture or not).

The two new Galaxy Players from Samsung are Flash Ready and are currently equipped with Android 2.2 Froyo but will be upgraded to Android 2.3 Gingerbread. Since these two devices don’t allow you to make calls over GSM or CDMA network, the only thing left mentionable is the storage space. Both these devices have 8gb internal storage and support for microSD card of upto 32gb.

The specs are fine but there is no word on the processor speed nor its built. We believe that they are using the same old single core Hummingbird processor. Also, RAM is not discussed so far, so we cannot say any thing about its RAM. In addition to that, the Price and Launch Date is still to be released by Samsung.
Keep visiting to know more about these device and a lot other things.
