Download and install the Galaxy S3 TouchWiz launcher

Everything has been leaked from the Samsung Galaxy S3 and now people starting porting the apps and launcher on other Android devices. Unfortunately it only works on Samsung based ROMs for the moment, so you cannot flash it on AOSP, AOKP or CM9, though developers are currently working on it and soon you will be able to install it on virtually any Android device.

We’ve tried it on a Samsung Galaxy S2 and it works flawlessly, without any bugs. The Touchwiz 4 launcher is also very fast and can be flashed on your device pretty easy, but you need root access and ClockworkMod recovery running on it.
Remember that before you flash anything you should backup your device, but this can also be done pretty easy using this apps and methods: AppBack to backup and restore applications | SMS backup & restore | Call Logs backup & restore.
First head on to XDA Developers and download the latest TouchWiz UI launcher. Copy the file to your device and then turn it off. Now boot your device in recovery mode by pressing home key + volume up + power buttons simultaneously.
Now go to Install zip from sd card > choose zip from sd card > select the TouchWiz file > Yes. Wait until it finishes flashing the launcher, then reboot your device.
Once your device boots, you can switch to the Galaxy S3 TouchWiz 4 launcher and enjoy it.

Other markets will have to wait a little  bit longer. The US customers have to be tolerant because the US version of the SamsungGalaxy S3 needs a new CPU in order to be able to use the LTE service and the shipment will be delayed. There is also good news, Samsung’s smartphone will be sold by all 4 major carrier in the US meaning Verizon, AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile.

Internal peek at the HTC One S: video

If you happen to own or contemplating picking up the HTC One S smartphone, and would like to know what the handset looks like inside then you might enjoy the video footage we have for your viewing consideration below, as it is a teardown video of the HTC One S.

The HTC One S video footage comes our way courtesy of the guys over at Engadget and by way of DirectFix, and is the first time we get an internal peek at the Android Ice Cream Sandwich smartphone as DirectFix shows you how to replace the HTC One S screen.

Apparently the tools required to get into your HTC One S include a Torx T5 and Phillips precision screwdriver, a nylon spudger, and a hair dryer if the displays adhesive is troublesome, and of course very steady hands, and one must also realise that doing such would naturally void any warranty.
Once inside you’ll see the battery pack dominates, along with a blue coloured shield that protects the main board and includes the lens cover, along with numerous fragile components that have to be removed before gaining access to the display so you can separate it from the device.
I’m quite sure you don’t really want me to go through all the shenanigans, and would much rather simply head on down to hit that play button so you can check out getting into the HTC One S for yourself, so I’ll leave it right there and let you get to it…enjoy.

  • Run Redsn0w as administrator => Go to Extras => Custom IPSW
  • In a new window select IPSW file which you have downloaded for iOS 5.1.1 => Click Open
  • It will take some time and Redsn0w will build custom IPSW file for 5.1.1 which will be saved at the same location where your IPSW file was downloaded, the new file name will be starting with NO_BB.
  • To put your device in DFU mode: Connect your iPhone with computer and start Redsn0w go to = Extras => Pwned DFU => Follow the instructions on the screen to put your device in DFU mode
  • Restore in iTunes: Open up iTunes and it will automatically detect your iPhone in recovery mode
  • Now Hold SHIFT (Alt for Mac) button and Click Restore Button in iTunes main window.
