10 Great Freeware Downloads You Might Have Never Heard Of

It seems like the internet is consistently becoming more regulated, and also more expensive. No matter how bombarded you are with ads for anti-virus software, video and audio tools, photo editors, and more, you might be surprised how many free tools are still available to cover all your online needs – even perform tasks you didn’t know were possible. Here are just a few of the best ways to maximize your PC without even touching your bank account.

1. AVG Anti-Virus

There are many different decent freeware programs to protect you from spyware and malware, but AVG is consistently rated highest when it comes to providing complete virus protection comparable to the kind you’d normally purchase at an expensive rate. AVG is known for its fast scanning capabilities, virus detection and quarantine, and disabling nearly all malware infections. It’s the first stop for protecting your PC without spending money.

Rolltop Amazing Folding Computer Concept

Rolltop

Just amazing! These were my 1st words when I 1st seen this concept laptop. I mean laptops that fold in strange shapes are no new thing but this one is the most spectacular so far.
Named the Rolltop, this is a computer system that comes from designer Evgeny Orkin and promises a lot. This is actually a folding computer concept that will have a 17 inch screen for better visibility.

And to add to the level of impressiveness, for a more beauty the back can be decorated with a variety of options ensuring a more beautiful gadget in the inside and on the outside.

Samsung flexible AMOLED displays delayed, Galaxy Note 3 maybe

For some time now we’ve been following the progress of Samsung’s flexible AMOLED displays dubbed Youm. We were hoping to have seen these new screens used by now and at one time it seemed possible they may appear on the new Samsung Galaxy Note 2 (Note II). However this didn’t come to fruition and it now appears that these flexible AMOLED displays have now been delayed. You never know though, they may finally make a debut on the Galaxy Note 3 or Galaxy S4.

Samsung originally planned the YOUMflexible displays to arrive in Q3 this year but it has now been reported that the mass production has met with a problem. In a way though this isn’t an issue for Samsung as its regular glass AMOLED displays are still proving extremely popular and sales of these hasn’t slowed, hence the delay of the flexible displays. The Galaxy S3 has been a phenomenal hit for Samsung and uses a 4.8-inch Super AMOLED HD display with a 5.5-inch version also following to the Galaxy Note 2. Indeed rather than production of these AMOLED displays being reduced, Samsung has actually increased it instead to keep up with demand.

LG Spectrum Android ICS 4.0.4 OTA update, huge changes

We have been reporting a lot recently of Android hardware being treated to the Jelly Bean update, but a lot of devices are still waiting to be upgraded to Ice Cream Sandwich with some handsets being left stuck on Gingerbread. Today we have news of the LG Spectrum Android ICS 4.0.4 OTA update, which brings some huge changes.

It was a few months ago now since LG officially said that it would update the Spectrum to Android 4.0, but the months went by without any sign of the new software. Now though as Droid Life are reporting the Android 4.0.4 update has been approved by Verizon for release.

Pinch To Unlock Your LockScreen

Pinch to unlock is a new jailbreak tweak that gives you alternate way of unlocking your lockscreen. If you are willing to change the old way of swiping or sliding the bottom of your lock screen you can install this new Cydia jailbreak tweak and unlock your lockscreen by just pinching you two fingers in either direction i.e. to inside or outside the same way in which we zoom in and zoom out the screens. Although this is a new way but I feel it is difficult as well because in the classical way you are using only one finger to slide to unlock now you will need two fingers means you may need to use both hands so this seems a little hasty but good news you are not loosing the slide to unlock function so you can use either way of unlocking. This becomes more useful especially on iPad because you don't need to move at the bottom of the screen instead you can any place for easy unlocking the screen.

If your device is jailbroken you can install pinch to unlock tweak very easily by just searching in the Cydia, this tweak is provided free by ModMyi repository.
If your device is not jailbroken you can jailbreak by visiting our jailbreak guides for iOS 6.0 & iOS 5.1.1 jailbreak.
Have a look at below video for more details on how this Cydia tweak works.
