YAL Concept Watch Inspired By Tron

Watch makers TokyoFlash are currently taking votes on whether or not to create the YAL Concept Watch, which has been designed by Yoann from France.
The YAL watch as you can probably guess from its design has been inspired by Tron, and uses a number of blue LEDs to tell the time. For example 5 LEDs in the middle, 2 LEDs in the outer branches, 2 more LEDs on the left and PM indicator on = 5h + (2×5)mn + 2 mn + p.m

Yoann explains how Torn music inspired the YAL:
“For a long time, I like to make some graphic creation in my free time and I used to put on it my little logo and “YAL” as a signature. I thought it will be cool to design a watch concept with it ! So, I took my pencil, turned on the Tron music and began to create a watch with my inspiration.”
So if you fancy helping the YAL Concept Watch make the move to production, jump over to theTokyoFlash website and cast your vote.

Samsung Galaxy Note Android Ice Cream Sandwich update edges step closer

The Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) update for the Samsung Galaxy Note got a stage closer to reality this week, with the news that an early, official version of the singing-est, dancing-est edition of Android is already on some owners’ phones.
The alpha ICS ROM, clocked on a Chinese tech forum by the good chaps at the XDA Developers site, is only compatible with Chinese models of the Note and isn’t terribly slick right now. That’s something born out by lukewarm testimonies from tech-savvy Note owners who compare it unfavourably to the Gingerbread build that the Note shipped with.

Even so, after some of the update debacles and delays we’ve known with certain manufacturers, it’s heartening to know that work on the Note ICS platform bump is progressing apace.
Earlier this year, Samsung confirmed it plans to bring ICS to the Galaxy Note and the blockbuster blower that is the Galaxy S2 in the first quarter of 2012.
Features Android 4.0 brings to handsets include a smart unlock function that harnesses face detection technology and revamped versions of native apps.
