Xperia P ICS update to drop in early August

I’ve been bringing readers all the news on Android 4.0 ICS updates for various devices as Ice Cream Sandwich continues its slow rollout. I have good news today for Sony Xperia P owners as it seems that it’s next in the Sony line of devices that will receive ICS and it should begin rolling out in early August.


Only earlier today we told how the Sony Xperia S ICS upgrade that had been interrupted because of issues was now back on track again and no doubt Xperia P owners will be pleased to learn they will receive their taste of ICS quite soon, considering this is one of Sony’s latest devices and didn’t release until May.

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Release Date Is Late August, At IFA Berlin 2012

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is getting ready for debut. Galaxy Note was the first smartphone-tablet hybrid of the South Korea-based company and the rumors about its successor are starting to hit the web.


Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is the successor of the company’s first phablet, Galaxy Note, which was officially introduced in October 2011. Just like it happens with all the highly anticipated gadgets,Samsung Galaxy Note 2 made the headlines on the tech blogs.

The first reports were saying that the new device will be launched in October, with a 5.3-inch display. MK News, quoting sources “close to the matter” comes to deny the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 October release date, saying that the South Korean phablet will be showcased in late August at IFA Berlin 2012 and that will sport a 5.5-inch display based on Samsung’s UBP technology.

It seems that Note 2 will come with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean out of the box, the latest software update unveiled by the search engine giant at Google I/O event last week.

Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich Update Rolls Out For The Samsung Galaxy Tab Line-up

Even though Google officiallyannounced Android 4.1 Jelly last week at Google I/O event, many of the tablets are still running on early versions of the popular mobile operating system. The older models of the Samsung Galaxy Tab line-up was not so fortunate to receive the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update so far, but it seems that will be changed, soon.

Nokia Dark Knight Rises 3D Map available before release

The hype is building for the release of ‘The Dark Knight Rises,’ due out later this month but in the meantime fans of the Batman trilogy might appreciate being able to take a look around Gotham City, courtesy of a Nokia 3D map. It will certainly give Batman enthusiasts something to get their teeth into before the movie first hits screens on July 21.

The Dark Knight Rises is the final part of the trilogy of films directed by Christopher Nolan and as it will conclude the series of movies there seems to be even more interest this time around. Nokia and Warner Bros. had the smart idea of getting together to build the 3D look at Gotham City that is available as a Flash-based mini-site. The maps create an interactive experience for fans who can scrutinize the Batman metropolis and check out locations such as City Hall and Gotham City Stadium.

Nokia Lumia 610 launched in India for Rs. 12,999

Nokia has launched the Nokia Lumia 610 in India as they announced last month. It was introduced at MWC 2012 as an affordable Windows Phone. It runs on Windows Phone 7.5 (Tango) and has 3.7-inch LCD Display and is powered by 800 MHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S1 processor. It has metallic design and comes with Nokia Music DRM-free music service with 45 lakh + songs and Mix Radio.

It comes with Nokia Maps and the navigation is available with Hindi and Tamil language support. It has5MP camera with LED flash, 256MB RAM, 8GB internal memory, FM Radio and 1300mAh battery. It comes in 4 colors, Magenta, White Cyan and Black colors.

The Nokia Lumia 610 is priced at Rs. 12,999 and would go on Sale in India from tomorrow. 

Nokia Music with Mix Radio launched for Lumia devices in India

Nokia has finally brought the Nokia Music with Mix Radio for Lumia Smartphones in India as theyannounced last month. The Nokia Music lets you purchase DRM-free music from a collection of over 45 lakh songs and the Mix Radio is a free service that lets you listen to radio stations customized for different regions and genres.

The Nokia Music with Mix Radio is available in Lumia 610 that was launched in India today. It would soon be available for Lumia 800 and Lumia 710 through a software update.

Max Payne Mobile v1.1 update for iPhone and iPad brings iCloud save game support

Rockstar Games has released an update for the Max Payne mobile for iPhone and iPad that waslaunched in April. The version 1.1 update brings iCloud save game support for seamless progression across all iOS devices. This update also adds an option to move and shoot with the right analog stick that would offer you a new level of precision.

This update also includes various stability and bug fixes. Download Max Payne Mobile for iPhone andiPad from the Apple iTunes Store for $2.99. If you already got the game, you can update it to the version 1.1 from the iTunes store on the phone.

Nokia Lumia 800 The Dark Knight Rises special edition launched in India for Rs. 24,999

Nokia has launched the The Dark Knight Rises special edition Lumia 800 in India. It has Batman logo etched at the back as you can see in the image above.

It comes with exclusive Dark Knight app with video content and games preloaded on the phone and also has pre-loaded Dark Knight wallpapers, trailers, ringtones, etc. Other features and specifications are similar to the Lumia 800.

The Nokia Lumia 800 The Dark Knight Rises special edition is priced at Rs. 24,999 and would be available for purchase from the Official Nokia Store soon.

Since this a limited edition, only 200 units of the phone would be available.

Nokia May Launch The Dark Knight Rises Edition Lumia 900 In India This Week

Nokia has sent up a press invite to some of the popular bloggers in India for an event which will be held at New Delhi on 6th of July.With the upcoming Batman movie Dark Knight Rises right around the corner,its about the right time to kick in with the promotions with special edition Phones.

If we have a look at the press invitation which sport a Dark Knight Rises poster in the background,indicates that we might see a Nokia Lumia 900 Special Dark Knight Rises Edition phones along with the normal version of Lumia 900 and the entry level Lumia 610.Though none of the releases have been confirmed from the official sources at this moment.

There’s  also talks about the New Music Services from Nokia,The Nokia Music store might also be launched for the Lumia devices.Along with the Mix Radio Music Streaming application for Lumia and we can see a version of the same for  the recently launched Pureview 808.

It remains to be seen after the announcement a couple of weeks ago about the future of existing Windows Phones not getting the Windows Phone 8 update and rather a Windows Phone 7.8,would people take interest in buying a hardware which won’t support the upcoming version of Windows Phone ?

I couldn’t live without my phone, could you? I don’t know what I would do If I couldn’t access all my apps and information. Here are my top 7 tips to keep your mobile, and the data stored on it, protected from thieves and hackers…

1. Use the PIN feature
I’ve never come across a mobile phonethat didn’t offer a PIN-lock when switching the phone on, and most smartphones will let you choose to require a PIN re-entered after the phone has been left untouched for a set period. It won’t stop a thief stealing your phone, but at least if they do they won’t be able to gain access to all your data such as photos and contact details!

2. Turn off Bluetooth
Bluetooth is a wonderful feature that creates a virtual link between two devices and allows data to be shared between them. Unfortunately, it also provides a platform for scheming hackers to get into your phone, where they can install viruses or gather data such as saved passwords. If you’re not using it, switch it off.

3. Install anti-virus software
You can keep Bluetooth switched off, avoid suspicious websites and never open email or message attachments from strangers, but occasionally malicious software will still make its way onto your phone. You wouldn’t use the Internet without a firewall, so why risk it with your phone?

Sony Xperia mini 4.0 ICS flavor update starts now

We know that many people are still eagerly awaiting the Android 4.1 Ice Cream Sandwich update for their devices and today we have some good news for those users of the Sony Xperia mini. The ICS update is now being rolled out to Xperia mini users and we have details of how you can find out if the upgrade is available to you right now.
Recently Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich updates have becomes available for several of the other Sony phones in the Xperia lineup although the Xperia S update currently seems to be problematic. That hasn’t stopped Sony issuing advice for the Xperia mini though. As with some of the other updates it’s a stepped rollout with some particular batches of phones able to receive ICS before others depending on country and carrier. Windows Vista And Windows XP, Upgradable To Windows 8

Microsoft have announced the details about Windows 8 upgrade. The good news is that besides Windows 7, Windows Vista and even Windows XP will be upgradable to Windows 8.

Unfortunately, there are some restrictions related to older systems upgrades. As we already know, there will be four Windows 8 versions: standard, Pro, Enterprise and RT. The latter one developed fortablets with processors manufactured on ARM architecture, while Enterprise will be availableexclusively for business segment.

The beta version was launched last month.

Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet gets Android 4.0 OTA update in India

Lenovo ThinkPad tablet has received the Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) update in India. It is also available in United States, UK, Europe and other countries worldwide. Lenovo launched the ThinkPad Tablet in India last October and announced the ICS update for the tablet earlier this February. This update would offer improved browser with save it for later option and Voice input that would let you dictate text. There is no Face Unlock feature as they announced.


his update is available Over the Air (OTA). If you did not get notification, you can check for the updates manually in Settings -> About -> System Updates.

HTC EVO 3D Android 4.0 update starts rolling out in India

HTC has announced on the their Facebook page that they have stared rolling out Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) update for EVO 3D in India. The HTC EVO 3D was launched in India last August at at hefty price tag of Rs.35,990 (MRP) and later got a price cut that brought the price down to Rs. 25,000. HTC announced the global Android 4.0 update schedule last month and started rolling out Android 4.0 update for Sensation XL India earlier this week.

This update would bring new features including HTC Sense 3.6, customizable launcher in the home-screen, new lock screen functions, music controls in the notification bar, new multi-tasking / recent apps screen and more new features.

Android 4.0 update for other HTC devices would follow soon.

Samsung Galaxy Beam up for pre-order in India for Rs. 29900

Samsung Galaxy Beam is now on pre-order from the Samsung’s Official eStore. Samsung announced the Galaxy Beam, successor of their previous Beam at MWC 2012 in February. It was expected to be available in South West Asia including India in May, but it got delayed. It has a 4.0-inch 480×800 (WVGA)TFT display and is powered by 1 GHz Dual-Core Processor. It has 15 lumens pico projector that allows users to share photos, videos or other digital media instantly and in crisp clarity up to 50-inch wide. It runs on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) and has 5MP Auto focus camera with flash, 1.3MP secondary camera.

Other features include, 786MB RAM, 8GB Internal Memory, MicroSD slot (up to 32GB), Bluetooth 3.0＋HS, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n 2.4GHz, MicroUSB, USB 2.0 and aGPS. It has 2000 mAh battery.

The Samsung Galaxy Beam is now on pre-order from Samsung eStore for Rs. 29,900. There are no details about the availability, but we can expect it in early July.

HTC India has announced on their Facebook Page that the Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) Over the Air (OTA) update is now rolling out in India. HTC announced the global Android 4.0 update schedule last month. How to Uninstall Cydia Application Directly from Springboard

I expect everyone of you have used Cydia to download iPhone apps for your jailbrokeniPhone. Cydia is great but one thing I dislike is I cannot uninstall Cydia application directly from home screen (or what so called springboard). In order to remove a Cydia app, you’ll need to launch Cydia and go to package screen to uninstall the app.
The recent release of CyDelete finally solves the uninstallation problem and bring much convenience to iPhone users. CyDelete allows you to uninstall any Cydia application directly from the home screen using the same way as you remove other iPhone applications from App Store. You can simply tap and hold on the icon of Cydia application you want to remove. You’ll then see a “X” showing up. Tap the “X” and CyDelete will prompt you for confirmation to remove the Cydia package.
That’s the same way you remove iPhone apps from App Store. Cool, right? CyDelete is available for download from Cydia and it’s absolutely free.
