The long awaited entry level Windows Phone 8 handset, the HTC 8S, is now available in India at a price point of Rs. 19,359. Online retailer Saholic has now listed the handset as available. The HTC 8S follows the 8X which has been quite a popular handset partly due to the lack of competition in the WP8 segment.

A 4″ SLCD panel with WVGA resolution can be seen up front while the back houses the 5MP camera with LED flash. Connectivity options include  3G, WiFI, Bluetooth. Facebook for Android goes native, Now twice as fast

Facebook for Android has always  struggled with performance issues and particularly laggy scrolling due to its dependence on webviews instead of native code. The company has now finally rolled out a native build of the app for Android which promises to double the performance of the application. The application is expected to be twice as fast at looking at photos and opening up the timeline.

Launch timings to have been worked at according to Phillip Fung, a Facebook engineer. The popular social network has decided to keep the interface the same while making extensive under-the-hood changes to create a solid foundation for the app moving forward. There’s much improved memory efficiency and garbage collection to ensure that the performance is right in line with the updated iOS application which shipped a few months ago. Facebook has built its own scrolling engine and is using it instead of the one built into Android. The update will go live later today on the Play Store and should show up on your devices as well.

Download Google Maps For iOS & iPhone5

Good news for iOS 6 users that now they can enjoy the most useful and popular maps app i.e. Google Maps on their iOS 6, 6.0.1 etc, especially for the iPhone 5 Apple map users who were not having any other choice to use Apple maps. You can now just go to app store and download Google maps app for iPhone 5 or any idevice running iOS.
Most of us know about the recent incidents in Australia where people following the map were guided to a much dangerous area where they could have been harmed by extreme weather conditions and which was later rectified by Apple in their maps app. In that perspective I believe now no body will trust on the accuracy of Apple maps app until they could rebuild the user confidence by improving their Apple maps.

Maybe time to delete Instagram, Facebook confirms ads

iOS users were treated to the Instagram application long before it was released onto fierce rival Android, with millions of users creating a frenzy around the popular photo sharing app. Earlier this year the company behind the popular app was snapped up by social networking giant Facebook in a $1 billion deal, and it may be time to delete Instagram, as Facebook confirms ads are coming to the service.

When the deal was first announced many wondered how Facebook would ever recoup its vast layout to purchase Instagram, and the photo sharing service has managed to stay free from ads since it was first released back in 2010. The guys over atBusinessInsider have confirmed with Carolyn Everson of Facebook that “monetization” will be coming to the application at some point in the future.

Pokedex – A New Pokemon Game App For iOS (Download)

A new game app for Pokeman lovers has been launched for iOS. It goes by the name Pokedex. The release of this app took a lot of tech people and the users by surprise as only a few months earlier when both the investors and the users were calling for such an app Satoru Iwata, Nintendo’s president, negated the whole idea saying that they would never share any of its rights with Apple as it would damage the mere existence of Nintendo.

Professional photography is often thought to be a difficult task as one has to keep the camera steady and still to click a perfect picture. When normally doing photos, we handle the camera in our hands; result is that the photo clicked is not always a clear one. The photo may get blurred due to a number of reasons. But if you are an iPhone user, then your problem is about to be solved.

CoD-like Modern Combat 4 action shooter for Android

A few days ago iOS gamers were able to download and play both Modern Combat 4: Zero Hour and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, and whilst Android gamers also gained GTA: Vice City, they were left waiting for their version of Modern Combat 4. However, the first person shooter game has now become available to download from Google Play.
Modern Combat 4: Zero Hour for Android has become available, however it appears some users might experience some issues downloading the game in the form of an error 941, and as such those gamers are advised to wait between an hour and an hour and a half due to the size of the game, as the data download might take a while to initiate, and users can try clearing the data and cache in the Google Play app as well.
