HTC Desire S ICS update still on target for August

HTC has seen its sales declining in recent times as competition mounts from the likes of Samsung on the Android platform, along with the ever present popularity of the Apple iPhone. Its reputation hasn’t been helped by the slow and sometimes non-existent upgrading of its hardware to the newer versions of the platforms operating system. It seems though that owners of the HTC Desire S will be treated to the Android ICS update this month.

As an article over at GottaBe Mobile is reporting it seems that the HTC Desire S will still see Ice Cream Sandwich this month as originally planned, but currently a specific date for the release remains unclear.

Windows Phone 7 users can safely get an outlook email address
Windows Phone 7 users wanting to test Microsoft's revamped email service outlook.com which is being called Hotmail's successor was greeted with a warning that if they change the email address used to set up the phone, features such as email, the marketplace and skydrive among others will stop working.
Windows Phone 7 users can safely get an outlook email address

There is an easy fix for this for those who still want to test drive the new outlook.com. You can get the new @outlook.com addresss and still have your old hotmail or live email ID. It's like killing 2 birds with 1 stone so to speak. Still interested? Here's what you do:
  1. Head over to to the Outlook website and sign in with your old @hotmail or @live ID
  2. Create an @outlook.com address as an alias here (this allows you to keep your old address and get a new @outlook  address
  3. Finish setup. You can now continue using your original address and any new mail sent to your new outlook address will showup in a folder of your choice (chosen during alias setup).
To switch back to the old hotmail.com, simply click the settings icon (jagged circle) and the switch back to hotmail option will be there.
ENJOY :)

Motorola Xoom Jelly Bean Review

Motorola Xoom Jelly Bean Review
As a proud owner of a Motorola Xoom Wifi edition, I expected an Android update as soon as I heard about Android 4.1 and fortunately enough, only a few days after it was released, a notification popped up, letting me know I was ready to update. Android 4.1, or Jelly Bean, as it is commonly known, is a fantastic upgrade from ICS. While it is not a complete UI makeover like ICS was to Honeycomb, it does bring hundreds of improvements on an already polished operating system. Thanks to Project Butter, the OS feels absolutely lightning quick and has virtually no lag whatsoever. Does it fare well in today’s competitive mobile OS market? Let’s find out.
