I like Nokia. At the moment they seem to be doing a lot to make the mobile experience with them quite special.
From making some of the best Windows Phone Devices around and cramming them with every feature they could think, to being one the best providers of Apps for Windows Phone (the Nokia Collection is full of good free apps), they're now providing us with the means to create out own phone shells.
Admittedly, it is a bit limited in that it is only the backplate you can change and at the moment they are only releasing the the design spec for the 820. And you need to have a 3D printer, and know how to use it.
However, should you meet these criteria, then you're in luck! Nokia are releasing what they call the 3D-printing Development Kit. It should contain all the necessary materials for anyone with 3D printers to be able to design and print there own backplates for the 820. It's quite an impressive step forward in terms of customization, and really allows you to have a truly unique phone.
Personally, I do not enough about 3D printing nor have any of the tools to allow me to do any 3D printing, however if you do, I would suggest you have a look at Nokia's info and download their printing pack and see what you can do with it!
