Apple iPhone 5 Prototype Spotted at Foxconn

A source from Foxconn has reported that the Apple iPhone 5 has been spotted and will be going into mass production soon. Note-The picture above is just an iPhone 4 with a metal sticker.
The iPhone 5 seems to have a design similar to the iPhone 4 with the major differences being the materials used and the screen size.
It seems Apple have decided to dump the glass back which caused all the Glassgate problems and go back to metal similar to what we had int he first generation iPhone 2G.
The source says that the iPhone 5 will have a flat metal back although other reports indicate a curved metal back.
The screen size is said to be between 3.7″ and 4″ which should be an edge to edge display. The phone should also have the new dual core A5 processor.
We will keep you updated as we get more information on the iPhone 5.

Spice Popkorn Projector Phone

Spice Mobiles has launched a new Projector phone called the PopKorn with the model number M-9000. The most unique feature of this phone is the Built-in projector which lets you watch movies and documents on a large screen.
The Popkorn also boasts of Analog TV which means you can watch some free-to-air TV channels . There is also mention of a Document Viewer and Laser Pointer. The document viewer supports Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Adobe PDF Files. Like most projector phones , this one suffers from poor battery life with a rated talk time of just 3.5 hours and we are not sure if that includes Projector usage. But the price point is certainly attractive and also Spice is airing ads during the Cricket World Cup for this handset which might help them selling a bunch of these.

Sony Ericsson Xperia Play Gains 3 New Ads: No Amputated Thumbs

Up until now the commercials for the first PlayStation phone, the Sony Ericsson XperiaPlay have been somewhat on the weird side touting an Android robot gaining human thumbs with hints of amputation, but there are now 3 more commercials for the Xperia Play that have done away with all that nonsense.
The three new Sony Ericsson Xperia Play adverts come our way courtesy of the guys over at Daily Mobile and by way of the Sony Ericsson YouTube page, and all last the usual allotted time for a commercial.
However, unlike previously see Sony Ericsson Xperia Play adverts full of weirdness and basically nothing to do with the Android 2.3 Gingerbread toting handset, these adverts actually show the gaming device.
Although in one video halfway through the video plays in reverse and Kristen Schaal’s eyes turn a demonic red, so I guess Sony Ericsson hasn’t forsaken the weirdness totally. So head on down and check out the new videos…enjoy.

Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc Promoted with Dancing Android Robot: Video

Well if you are going to promote the new Android 2.3 Gingerbread packing Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc why not have someone dress up as the famous Android robot and strut a few moves for an audience?
Thus what I have for your viewing pleasure below is a video of that Android robot strutting their stuff in front of a Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc promo display, which comes our way courtesy of the guys over at Android Police and by way of YouTube userDark32.
Obviously whoever decided to use the Android robot to promote the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc smartphone has a good sense of humour as I couldn’t help but crack a smile when watching the footage, and it kind of makes me want to own one, the Android mascot that is.
Anyway if you are in need of a smile head on down and hit that play button to check out the dancing Android robot dancing their heart out for the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc…enjoy.

Google Nexus S India Launch April 1st Week for Rs.27999?

Online retailer FlipKart has started taking Pre-orders for the Google Nexus S made by Samsung. The asking price for the device is Rs.27999 which is higher than the current price of the Galaxy S i9000.The Nexus S is currently the only Android phone in the market that comes with stock Gingerbread (Android 2.3) . The expected launch date is April 1st week.

The handset is pretty attractive in terms of looks and the curved glass display is pretty nice too. Although the handset is pretty fast, there have been mixed reactions from users about the battery life of the device with some stocking up on a  spare battery.
The India launch of the Nexus S has been making noise for quite sometime now and we are surprised about this piece of news when the world is waiting for the Galaxy S2 from Samsung.  We do not know if this is going to be just a temporary measure till the Galaxy S2 is ready to hit stores or there are plenty of unsold units. India never got the Nexus One so the Nexus S is surely welcome. We are not sure if Samsung managed to get Google’s seal of approval for the launch in India. April 1st week is not far away ,  so we should be finding out soon.
So which one of you is going to buy the Nexus S in India ?

Apple Starts iPhone 5 Production

Apple has reportedly started the trial productions of it’s upcoming smartphone, the iPhone 5-successor to the iPhone 4.
The iPhone 5 is expected to be released in the third quarter of this year. That would be later than the original launches but considering that Apple may be releasing the white version of the iPhone 4 soon, it seems to be right.
The source also says that the iPhone 5 may not feature a bigger screen as the rumours had indicated. The phone will be very similar to the iPhone 4 rather than returning to the original design as previously stated.
It might feature an NFC chip contrary to the rumours stating that Apple would wait till it became the medium for mobile payments.

Mobile Phone Lost : 1 in every 2 Indians lose their phone says Norton Survey

Our lives are becoming more and more dependent on our mobile phones. From connecting with friends on social networks to mobile banking, there are lots of advantages the mobile phone offers, but there is the big risk of exposing and losing your personal information if you lose your phone.
Norton has conducted an interesting survey which reveals that 53% of Indian have lost their phone or have fallen victim to cell phone theft in their life. This percentage keeps on increasing over the past few years and now has increased 1.5 times in the span of last 5 years.
74% people would like to install software on their phone that would wipe their personal information remotely. They are also willing to pay particular amount to get such services, but most of them end up paying more for such services without getting the job done.
The survey also reveals that only 42% of Indians have protected their phone with a password. Most of them who use protection were the ones who have already lost their phone or own a smart phone. 80% would like to pay for a software that could lock, wipe their phone and find their phone’s location remotely. 60% would allow their phone to find their location and are ready to use banking services on mobilephones.
