1. Rip DVDs: VLC includes a basic DVD ripper. A Faster Start Menu

I see no reason for there to be any delay when I click on the Start Menu. Effects are pretty, but I wouldn’t click on it if I didn’t have business inside, so lets get it open and get moving. The default speed can be adjusted with a quick registry entry.
The default value is 400. Set it to 0 and the delay is gone, but it will be nearly impossible to move the mouse fast enough not to activate [All Programs] if you mouse over it in route to your final selection. It's easy to train yourself to move the pointer to the right after clicking Start to avoid activating All Programs. Pick a number that suits your style and make the change, then test it until you find a good compromise between speed and usability.

Folder Options Missing

Many of us sometimes find the folder options missing in windows explorer.
Here's the solution-->

Open Run and then type "gpedit.msc".
Now goto User Configuration > Administrative templates > Windows Component > Windows Explorer.

Click on Windows Explorer you will find the 3rd option on the right side of screen "Removes the Folder Option menu item from the Tools menu"

Just check it, if it is not configured then change it to enable by double clicking on it and after applying again set it to not configured.

What is Registry?

The Registry is a database used to store settings and options for the 32 bit versions of Microsoft Windows including Windows 95, 98, ME and NT/2000. It contains information and settings for all the hardware, software, users, and preferences of the PC. Whenever a user makes changes to a Control Panel settings, or File Associations, System Policies, or installed software, the changes are reflected and stored in the Registry.

The physical files that make up the registry are stored differently depending on your version of Windows; under Windows 95 & 98 it is contained in two hidden files in your Windows directory, called USER.DAT and SYSTEM.DAT, for Windows Me there is an additional CLASSES.DAT file, while under Windows NT/2000 the files are contained seperately in the %SystemRoot%\System32\Config directory. You can not edit these files directly, you must use a tool commonly known as a "Registry Editor" to make any changes (using registry editors will be discussed later in the article).

How convert DRM protected music and movies to MP4/AVI/MOV/MP3/WMV/AAC...

Many people ask me the same question: "I purchased videos on iTunes, but I can't play them on my video player, because they are in some 'protected' M4V format that only works on iPods. Then I tried to burn the iTunes video onto a DVD and re-import it into iTunes just like how to remove the protection from the iTunes audios (M4P) by burning it onto a CD and re-import it as mp3. I failed, cause iTunes doesnt have a DVD burning option, then I used Nero, but it still doesnt work as Nero doesnt supports M4V format.

And finally, a software solution. I came across a few kinds of converters on Google search, they are Tunebite, Daniusoft and Noteburner. When I was testing the free trials one by one, what makes me comfortable is the Daniusoft media converter .

Many a times we require a FOLDER too often, like to store our Multimedia files and all !!!

No no need to access the folder and carry out the traditional COPY & PASTE !!!

Just add it too "SEND TO" !!!

Do as follows :

** Open any FOLDER.

** Then, TOOLS >> Folder Options

** Click view TAB.

** In LIST of Advance Settings, click Show hidden files and folders !

** Now, go to C:\Documents and Settings

** Here, double click and open your (username) folder !

** Now, open SendTo folder.

** Here copy and paste the shortcut of your favorite folder.

That's Done !!!

Now, tranfer files to your favorite folder :

** Right Click the file
** Then, Send To
** Click the folder name !

Windows 7 offers you location specific Aero themes based on the language and location you pick during installation. Here we will take a look at accessing other hidden themes from different countries.

When you first start the Windows 7 installation the first thing you will do is select a language, time and currency format. This is where Windows determines what themes you’re presented with by default.



Being from the US I’m presented with location specific themes from the United States with desktop backgrounds such as scenery from Maine, Idaho, Oregon etc.



To access the other international themes copy and paste the following path into the search box and hit Enter.

Should Magical Floating Concept Smartphone be iPhone 5?

When it comes to smartphones we try to look for the best on the market, especially when it comes to concept phones we search the web high and low. Welcome to the world of the floating hovering smartphone with a difference.

We definitely think this should be the next Apple smartphone design, say hello to the new iPhone 5 (Yeah ok we know that was a little stupid to say), but got to admit would look bloody awesome.

This floating smartphone was created by In-oh Yoo and Sun-woong Oh for the Metatrend Institute, the reason we love this design so much has to be down to the ability of spinning in mid-air whilst in its cradle. Main features include the likes of floating in mid air, it will charge wirelessly whilst in the cradle, if a call comes in the handset will start spinning in the cradle creating a 3D image, yes baby it will spin fast when someone calls you. Damn we love this concept.
